=The wait was clearly worth it. The world finally got a look at the first trailer for the long-awaited Queen biopic, Bohemian Rhapsody on Tuesday morning (May 15). After years of on-and-off development and intrigue, the 97-second peek at the anticipated film about the life and times of the legendary British rock band and their late lead singer Freddie Mercury is a delight for the eyes and ears. After a 10-second teaser trailer dropped on Monday (May 14), briefly revealing star Rami Malek in his Mercury get up, the full trailer proved that the Mr. Robot actor was the only choice that made sense. Malek has already earned praise for his uncanny resemblance to Mercury, and the blitz of scenes in which he inhabits the flamboyant rock star in a variety of colorful outfits and through multiple hair eras is evidence that the wait was worth it. The trailer opens with Malek, wearing a fluttering white cape, engaging in the familiar call-and-response with an audience that was one of Queen's signature live concert staple moves, before cutting to snippets of Malek as Mercury in a gold lame jumpsuit, a black leather outfit and shirtless while wielding the late singer's iconic half microphone stand as the instantly recognizable strains of "Another One Bites the Dust" kick in. The quick-cut trailer bounces from Mercury's first meeting with guitarist Brian May (Gwilym Lee) and drummer Roger Taylor (Ben Hardy) to their rise through the ranks while the "Dust" beat is overlaid with snippets of other hits, including "Killer Queen" and the movie's title track. It peaks with a scene in which May plays the central "Rhapsody" riff in the studio and Mercury informs him from the mixing board "this is where the operatic section comes in," which cuts to the band huddled around a microphone bringing Mercury unlikely musical vision to fruition. Hinting at turbulence and triumph as the band becomes one of the biggest rock acts in the world, the trailer peaks with a glimpse of the massive crowd at Wembley Stadium in 1985 when Queen leaped into history with their unforgettable set at Live Aid. Bohemian Rhapsody will hit theaters on Nov. 2. Check out the trailer below. Source : Billboard

Chester Bennington‘s widow Talinda has hit out at the website TMZ for the manner in which they reported the death of Avicii. The Linkin Park frontman passed away in July after taking his own life. He was just 41-years-old. Earlier this week, it was reported that Avicii had also died by suicide. The Samaritans’ media guidelines for reporting suicide advise that it is inappropriate to use the word “committed”, as well as stressing the dangers of reporting the specific details of the method that the deceased used to take their own life. “Please, please, DO NOT click on the TMZ article or any other about the private details of Avicii’s passing,” Talinda Bennington wrote on Twitter. “This is how WE can stop #filthytmz. Responding to another follower on Twitter, she added: “I would like to politely ask you to change your verbiage a bit though. It is shaming and stigmatising to say “committed suicide “. Deepest gratuity if you could write “Died by suicide”.” Anna Shinoda, author and wife of Linkin Park’s Mike Shinoda also called for more sympathetic coverage. “If you want to be respectful of the person who has passed and their family and friends, step in front of your curiosity,” she wrote. “Your click on that page is your vote. Your click tells them that you want more articles like these. Your click pays them for violating privacy and grieving space.” Both Talinda Bennington and Anna Shinoda have been vocal advocates in the battle against depression since Chester’s passing. Earlier this year, Talinda launched the Campaign to Change Direction – highlighting the signs of depression and encouraging fans to ‘lend a hand’ to those suffering. She is calling upon fans to know the symptoms of depression, as well as sharing “healthy habits of emotional well-being”. “The passing of my husband cannot be in vain,”she said on his birthday. “His passing was a catalyst for opening up dialogue with respect to emotional and mental health. Throughout his life, he saved countless lives with his music and philanthropy. And through his death, he continues to save lives by spotlighting the urgent need for a change in our mental health culture.“It’s up to us to change the way we think of mental health, to acknowledge that everyone has their own mental health to care for, and to end stigma and shame when we need to seek help for it.”

Rojas-directed music video for a new song, “Hunger,” on YouTube andTidal. (It’s not yet available in the U.S. via YouTube.) “This song is about the ways we look for love in things that are perhaps not love, and how attempts to feel less alone can sometimes isolate us more,” band leader Florence Welch said in a statement. “I guess I made myself more vulnerable in this song to encourage connection, because perhaps a lot more of us feel this way than we are able to admit. Sometimes when you can’t say it, you can sing it.”
Band leader Florence Welch wrote High as Hope. She co-produced the album with Emile Haynie. According to a press release, Kamasi Washington, Sampha, Tobias Jesso Jr., Kelsey Lu, and Jamie xx collaborated on the record. Once they stepped behind the desk they got right down to business, opening with the sparkling "Living In The World Today," from GZA's 1995 solo album Liquid Swords. These 23-year old lyrics and metaphors felt timeless.
GZA continued his onslaught of poetic precision with another beauty from Liquid Swords, "Duel of the Iron Mic." "I ain't particular," he spat, starting to break into a sweat behind the desk. "I bang like vehicular/Homicides on July 4th in Bed-Stuy." At one point, GZA even channeled his cousin, the late great Ol' Dirty Bastard, who provided the hook on the original version of the track. Most rap fans would name RZA as the head of the Wu-Tang Clan. But Wu purists know that GZA, or The Genius, is the crew's unspoken elder statesman. By the third and final song at the Tiny Desk, driven by unbridled passion and his command of the room, GZA was soaked in sweat as they broke into the title track of Liquid Swords. The Soul Rebels perfectly recreated the track's seamless horn hits while adding on a bit of their own flare. The cherry on top arrived when GZA used his final minutes to tell the story of how the hook originally came together. In RZA's basement, smoking and drinking with fellow Wu lyricist Masta Killa, RZA was sold on a routine he, GZA and ODB used to perform as teens. But I'll leave it to him to tell you all about it in this unforgettable performance. This set was recorded when The Soul Rebels were in Washington, D.C. for a performance at the 9:30 Club that featured GZA and Talib Kweli. It was one of just a handful of live concerts GZA has done with the group. SET LIST

About a week and a half ago, the Swedish dance music superstar Tim Bergling, who recorded as Avicii, was found dead in Muscat, Oman at the horribly young age of 28. Last week, Rolling Stonereported that Avicii had died by suicide on an estate owed by Oman’s royal family. (This is after Avicii’s family put out a statement, writing, “He could not go on any longer. He wanted to find peace.” And now some truly upsetting details about Avicii’s death have emerged. (Please be aware that there could be some very triggering information below.) According to TMZ, various sources close to Avicii have confirmed that he died by suicide and that he used a shard of glass to cause “massive bleeding.” One of TMZ’s sources claims that the glass came from a broken wine bottle. The sources differ as to how Avicii caused the injury. Two sources claim that the injury was in his neck, while another says that it was in his wrist. Avicii had been dealing with problems with alcohol for years. He had suffered from pancreatitis, a condition brought on, in part, by excessive drinking. In 2014, Avicii had his gallbladder and appendix removed, and he retired from touring in 2016. Source: https://www.stereogum.com/1994074/report-avicii-committed-suicide-with-broken-wine-bottle/news/ THE full extent of Avicii’s generous nature has been revealed just a week after his death in Oman, with the DJ giving away millions to charities Due to his chart-topping songs such asWake Me Up and Hey Brother as well as being able to command fees upwards of $300,000 for a club gig, the Swedish DJ is believed to have amassed a fortune of around £60million (more than $109 million). But the 28-year-old, real name Tim Bergling, gave millions away to charities to help hunger relief. He gave away a million American dollars from his 27-date House for Hunger tour of the United States in 2012 to the charity Feeding America, the New York Post reports. The following year he gave another million euros to the Swedish aid organization Radiohjälpen. Avicii said in a 2013 interview: “I discovered when I started making money that I didn’t really need it.” “When you have such an excess of money you don’t need, the most sensible, most human and completely obvious thing is to give to people in need.” In 2015, he tackled the issues of human trafficking and gang violence when he directed the videos for his tracks For a Better Day and Pure Grinding. “All the songs have a story I wanted to tell,” Avicii said at the time. Although he gained recognition for a string of singles he really became a global success with the song Levels in 2011 which sampled Etta James and hit platinum status in at least ten countries. Avicii also worked with a host of big names outside of the EDM (electronic dance music) world, namely Coldplay, Robbie Williams, Rita Ora, Lenny Kravitz and Leona Lewis. According to Forbes magazine, he earnt $19m from a worldwide arena tour in 2015. The Swedish DJ quit touring in 2016 after life on the road seriously impacted his health. Avicii’s health problems began in January 2012, when he spent 11 days in hospital with acute pancreatitis, reportedly caused by heavy drinking. “Drinking became routine for me, but it’s impossible to keep up touring and drinking at the same time, because you are going to crash,” he told the Evening Standard in 2014. He also battled mental and physical health problems, in part caused by his heavy drinking, and friends expressed concern he was overdoing it. Earlier this week, Tim’s family released an open letter in which they hinted he had taken his own life. In their letter published on Aftonbladet and translated from its original Swedish, they wrote: “Our beloved Tim was a seeker, a fragile artistic soul searching for answers to existential questions. “An over-achieving perfectionist who traveled and worked hard at a pace that led to extreme stress. “When he stopped touring, he wanted to find a balance in life to be happy and be able to do what he loved most – music.” This article originally appeared on the New York Post and has been republished with permission.
